President Obama: I will not sign reform legislation without a public option

In his weekly address today, President Obama lays out his case that health care reform must be passed this year. In doing so, the President directly and forcefully addresses the standard battery of arguments made by critics of reform.

He also says directly and for the first time that I am aware that he will not sign reform legislation that does not include a public option to compete with the private insurers and keep them honest.
